Wales’ Leading Commercial Laundry Service, and probably The Only National Award Winning Commercial Laundry  Service in Wales kept superstars feeling a little fresher with unbeatable fresh towels at Radio 1’s Biggest Weekend in Swansea.

Radio 1’s Biggest Weekend came to Swansea’s Singleton Park for what turned out to be one best festivals of 2018 during the 26th & 27th May.

As with all festivals, the combination of beautiful weather and superstars jumping around the stage resulted in a proactive action plan to provide 1400 towels. Radio 1’s festival partner was responsible for ensuring 1400 towels were not only onsite on time, yet beautifully cleaned for some pretty big names to use.

Radio 1’s festival partner faced a little dilemma as they sourced the towels direct from wholesaler. Those within the laundry and linen industry knows that brand new linen is not fit for use. It has to be cleaned to remove loose cotton, lint (linen fluff) and be prepared for use. No big deal when you have plenty of time to prepare and clean the items, right?

The wholesale order didn’t arrive to Singleton Park, Swansea until 12:30 pm. With superstars arriving Friday afternoon, a deadline of 5 pm was set to ensure towels were on-site and ready for stage warm-ups.

8 – Be Sure to Dust Everything

Dusting is a quick and easy job, but it’s very easy to forget certain surfaces in hotel rooms. For instance, it’s easy to forget to dust off exposed light bulbs, which can gather dust quickly and look much dirtier than they are.

You should also shake out the curtains every few days to knock the dust off of them before vacuuming the floors.

9 – Use Mattress Protectors to Extend Lifespan

More of a design idea than a true housekeeping tip, one thing that can help save your hotel a lot of money is to use mattress protectors.

These can protect your mattresses from not only liquids and stains, but also dust mites and allergens.  Pillow protectors can offer similar benefits.

10 – Vacuum the Furniture

Finally, vacuuming the furniture using an attachment to remove dust and dirt can make the room much cleaner. Neglected, these areas can quickly become very dingy and hotel guests will be sure to notice.

And, what’s worse, if guests feel one part of their room hasn’t been adequately cleaned, they may assume the rest of the room isn’t getting enough attention, either. It’s not a good situation, but thankfully, it’s one that is very easily avoided.

Little Tips For Rugby Kit Cleaning

Rugby kit cleaning can be an absolute nightmare for most! Especially during the autumn & winter months with the rain making the pitches muddy, and especially difficult to make those kits clean again.

These tips are designed specifically to help you when you’re dealing with one individual kit, this method would not be applied to a full team.

Rugby Kit Cleaning | Step 1

Make sure you don’t allow the mud to set itself within the fibers of the material. Even if you don’t feel like doing the laundry you’ve got to address this rugby kit before it’s too late! Fill a small bucket with warm water and remove the clumps of mud that will do no favors for your machine. Don’t be too fussy, as long as there are no clumps of mud you are doing just fine!

Rugby Kit Cleaning | Step 2

Make sure your washing machine has a ‘Pre-Wash’ option. This will give the kit a quick wash before its main wash to prevent the rugby kit from being cleaned in dirty water. Biological washing powder/detergent is far better at removing natural stains and odors (such as mud, blood, food etc) than Non-Biological washing powder/detergent. Put a cup measurement of Biological powder in the pre-wash draw.

Rugby Kit Cleaning | Step 3

The Main Wash. It is crucial you have stain remover to hand to withstand any chance of removing the mud for the garments. You should put a cup of Biological powder in the main wash compartment along with a cup of stain remover (for household purposes we would recommend Lidls W5 stain remover). Adding a fabric conditioner will give the garments a vibrant smell and will make them soft on the skin.

Rugby Kit Cleaning | Step 4

After the cycle is finished the rugby kits should be clean. However if there are some stubborn patches which refuse to budge apply stain remover directly onto the stain with a damp cloth and agitate the area until the powder forms a paste like texture. Work the area for 5 minutes. If you have time to spare leave the garments soak in hot water with a cup of stain remover. Then repeat Steps 1 – 3.
